Philly Fringe Vital Stats: Briel Driscoll

Posted

In this series, you’re getting to know your Philly Fringe artists. Today, Meet Briel Driscoll, one of the folks behind the interdisciplinary show BREW.

Name: Briel Driscoll.

Age: 23.

Where were you born? Windber, Penn.

What was the first thing you stole? A slimjim from the camp store. I had no idea I had even taken it and as soon as I realized I had I dropped it on the ground and walked away!

What’s your favorite alcoholic beverage? Tröegs Dreamweaver.

What’s your favorite Philly intersection? This has changed for me a few times but right now I would have to say I really enjoy the little traffic circle on Bainbridge and 3rd Streets. There is a little fountain there and it can actually be fun to eat under those pine trees and among the sporadic traffic!

If you were a “Founding Father,” which one would you be? This is a silly question. I guess George Washington because I am really good at doing this thing with my hair in the pool that reminds me of him.

Do you care about the Civil War Sesquicentennial? I don’t really think about it much, though I am very glad there are other people to think about it for me.

What’s your least favorite country? I’ll have to let you know if/when I ever experience all of them.

Do you know what the Internet is? I know what the internet does. I guess it is a nationwide collection of information and computer networks someone connected through space and time. No, I guess I have no actual idea. Just guesses.

What’s your job? I am a Reiki Practitioner, Dancer, Choreographer, Food Blogger (you can check out my blog at spaceenergymotion.com) and I also work part-time at an awesome allergen free/vegan bakery in the city.

What’s the most disgusting thing you’ve ever seen on SEPTA?
Oh, SEPTA. It’s been awhile. I feel like the surfaces overall are pretty disgusting.

Briel Driscoll performs in BREW, running September 2 and 3 at the Maas Building, 1325 N. Randolph Street, Kensington. 9:00 pm on September 2, 6:00 and 9:00 pm on September 3. Admission by donation.
